Family: Married to architect Kate Johns. Known her since they were six. Both native New Yorkers transplanted to Old Chatham two decades ago. Loves and actually lives the rural life. Former sheep farmer, still splits wood, mows grass, feeds chickens. Cooks, reads, and runs too. First marathon: June 2006, Stockholm.

Community: Sits on board of Columbia Memorial Hospital Foundation. Active parishioner, St. James Church, Chatham. Former board member of Crellin Morris Association and president of Tri-Village Fire Company.
